Griff's Valentine's Day

Last year Griff was oblivious to Valentine's Day. I'm not sure he was much more aware this year but he got a little festive. I wasn't planning on doing any cards, but as we passed the valentine section at the store he let out a scream and pointed to a box he just had to have for family and a few friends: Animal valentine's complete with animal tattoos. So I had him help select which valentine he wanted to go to which person and sign the card (scribble in the right spot). He was super helpful and took the responsibility pretty seriously (see picture). I was cracking up. It was like he understood what he had to do and wanted to make sure he picked well.

He also got his very first sucker. In fact, he hadn't even been introduced to hard or chewy candy until this week, with the exception of red vines. He took to the sucker instinctively. I'm afraid there's no going back. And he recieved his first delivery, a valentine bear and chocolate covered strawberries from aunt Baylee. I may have helped a bit with the strawberries, but the bear was all his! And to top it off, he got to go to Gram's for the night while mommy and daddy went out. He was a happy kid.
