Griff 8 months

This last month has been a month of new skill developments. Griff started army crawling at the beginning, and on Memorial Day while at the park he turned it into a full, belly off the ground crawl. He can get into sitting from laying down on his own and he can pull himself to standing. Both of these were first discovered in his crib. I went in to get him and found him sitting instead of lying down. Now, at the end of the month, I go in there and he's standing, sucking on the rail. He's a super smiley kid and laughs easily, though he still has his Mr. Serious moments. He's very friendly and loves to get all the attention he can at the grocery store or wherever we go instead of sticking his bottom lip out at everyone. Ladies love him and a few old men have stopped to pat his fuzzy head. He engages in noise conversations, repeating over and over the sound you just made or blowing raspberries at you. He's curious and grabs for anything and everything. He now gets into drawers (and slams his fingers in them) and loves to track down my flip flops and suck on them until his drool turns dark with dirt. He does still get really cranky in the middle of the day when he's bored and it's too hot to go anywhere. If we do go anywhere, he'll just cry because he's too hot in his car seat - I can't believe it's already that time of year. We aren't ready.

During his photo shoot this morning he would NOT stay seated. It pretty much reflects the latest.

Future Ironman

Griff started scooting a few weeks ago but didn't go very far until Ironman St. George was streaming live on my computer. He was attacking it so I put the computer across the room to see what he could do. Future Ironman right here...or maybe he just likes the computer.

The backpack

Griff is finally big enough to join us on hikes in his backpack. He loves being eye level with the rest of the world. He's been to Pine Valley, Zion, and in the hills behind our house. I'm surprised how comfy the pack is and it seems to be a smooth ride. G often falls asleep by the end of the hike, especially if the sunshade is up.

Mr serious checking out the pack details
