Rachael, Jane, and Summer Narrows

It's been years since the Rachael, Jane and Summer summer (2001, and prob 2002-2003) of non-stop river running and way too many late, late nights. Since then we've all spent time in other states and pursued our own things. I've seen each one individually through the last several years, but it's been a long time since we've all been together. Finally, we made it happen. Rachael and Jane came for the weekend. It was so good to be with them. Constant hard laughter, just like old times. Brandon took Griff so we could spend the day in Zion. Here are some pics of the narrows. I think Rachael is the only one who still has the stamina we had in the early 2000's. She was tough to keep up with. Jane and I just puttered in the back assuming she'd stop and wait eventually. She always did. I'd forgotten how beautiful the upper narrows are. I haven't hiked that far up (and it wasn't that far) in years.
You know you've aged when the comfort of socko's (chaco + socks) is more appealing than looking better without them. I hate chaco's in the sand. They are worthless, skin chewing, nuisances.

Nice pose Jane. And then there's the kid behind us on the rock.

I swear I have a picture almost exactly like this on some river. Fortunately we don't look too much different
