The Sock Puppet Game

The Ottoman Game

Lime Time

While cutting limes the other day Griff kept climbing up my legs. He always wants to know what has my attention instead of him. So, I showed him. I gave him 1/4 a lime and sat ready with my camera. He wasn't quite sure about it at first, but he must have liked something about it because he devoured it...and made a lot of fun faces in the process.

Father's Day Weekend 2012

Lynn and Michelle were down for the weekend (we love that Michelle's parents live here!) so we spent Saturday hiking Kanarraville Falls with them, Grandma Kathy, and Michelle's parents. On Sunday I made a peach pie and dutch oven apple crisp for the dad's and we had a Louisiana boil with B's whole family. I didn't get many pictures of that because my hands were too busy cracking crab legs. So good.

While we are talking about dads, I just thought I'd mention I have an incredible dad. I called him and told him about some of my favorite memories growing up. He used to take me out on drives. Just me and him. Sometimes we'd talk, sometimes we wouldn't. We'd go drive a street my dad saw and wanted to know where it went. We'd go through unfamiliar neighborhoods to look at houses. A few times we headed out into the country just to see what was in that part of the state. I still go for drives. If I need a break, need to think, or just want a relaxing adventure I'll go for a drive and explore a road I haven't been down. Brandon and I will drive through neighborhoods and look at houses all the time. I think we've covered all of St. George now. My Dad is a very selfless, considerate, generous, and loving guy. He's also funny, but would never think that of himself. He's supportive and caring and I've always known his love for me. I can't think of anything better than to have that reassurance. Thanks Dad!

And then there is the father of my son. I've always known Brandon would be a great dad and he's proved me right. He adores Griffin. He can make Griff laugh more than anyone. He helps with all the care taking and he knows when I need a break and takes over. I can't wait to see him with Griff as an older kid and a teen. Griff and I are lucky. I love knowing my kid(s) have a great example in their dad and will grow up knowing their dad loves them and their mom.

Salt Lake Break

It's already hot, hot in SG. We took a few days off and headed to Salt Lake for some cooler weather, close mountains, good friends, and Mandy's wedding. We really miss the mountains so we road and hiked them as many times as we could. We got to see people we love, eat at places we crave, and just enjoy the place we used to call home.

Millcreek Canyon - Rattlesnake to SL Lookout
This was one of my favorite quick trail runs so I had to show Griff. The last time I was on this trail was last summer when I was 7.5 months pregnant. Griff was heavier this time, but it felt so much better

Shade in the middle of the day. How nice

With Lynn and pregnant Michelle

We wanted to steal the coat Lynn and Michelle got in prep for their boy due in September. So cute!
Some of the rest
I didn't get pics of everything we did and everyone we saw, but here is what I did get
I rode Corner Canyon with Stacey. She's so fun to ride with. Brandon rode it with the boys

Visited my cousin and her family. They have bunnies.

Griff loved the girls and their swing

Temple Quarry Trail - Little Cottonwood Canyon

I stopped by the U to see a friend and took Griff by the place Brandon and I first met. They've turned the old spin room back into a racquetball court, but it's all the same
This would have been the spot where I was sitting on my bike when I looked over and saw Brandon for the first time. He was getting on the bike next to me. "This is where you first became a possibility, Griff."

My beautiful Granny

Griff is a big fan

He loved Papa, too

Sneaky little guy got past the chair barricade when I wasn't looking. The quiet made me turn and I found him halfway up the stairs. He did a great job for his first time.

We went to the zoo. Here he is watching the polar bear. I love his foot.
She was a crowd pleaser

Griff started playing this game at Jenny's house

Fun ending to a great trip

Crawdad Canyon

Escaping the desert heat by pitching our chairs in the river of a shady canyon.

Griffosaurus

Silence please

He wouldn't stop crying so I put him on the doorstep. It worked

Crawling for real...almost

This is Griff's second day crawling on his knees instead of dragging them. He gives it a good shot and then goes back to what he knows best in order to get to the computer the fastest. We can always lure him with the computer
